How to do Naukasana (Step by Step Instructions)
- For Naukasana, sit straight on the yoga mat.
- Keep your legs extended out in front of you.
- Place both hands on the floor slightly behind the hips.
- Lift the body upwards.
- Keep your spine absolutely straight.
- Exhale the breath outwards.
- Raise your legs at a 45 degree point to the floor.
- Extend the tailbone and bring the hips close to the navel.
- Strengthen your knees. Straighten your ankles.
- Lift your lower legs and bring them in line with your eyes.
- During this time you will be sitting on your butt and tailbone.
- Raise your arms high and stretch them parallel to the floor.
- Keep breathing in and out at a normal pace.
- Remain in this position for 10 to 20 seconds.
- Once you practice, increase the time.
- Release the asana slowly while exhaling.

Method of doing Matsyasana (Step by Step Instructions)
- Lie on your back on a yoga mat, with your legs extended while keeping your body comfortably attached to your body.
- Place your palms under your hips, palms facing the ground.
- Try to bring the elbows closer to each other. The position of the elbows will be near the waist.
- Sit cross-legged. Your thighs and knees will be flat on the floor. While breathing in, lift your chest upwards.
- Raise your head upwards, and the upper part of your head will remain touching the ground.
- The entire weight of the body will be on the elbows and not on the head.
- As the chest rises, there will be slight pressure on the shoulder muscles.
- Stay in this position as long as you feel comfortable. Keep your breathing normal.
- Exhale and return to the starting position.
- First lift the head and then bring the chest back to the ground. Straighten the legs and relax.
Precautions
If you have blood pressure, hernia or migraine, then do not do this asana.
Anantasana (Anantasana/Vishnu’s Couch Pose)

Bhujangasana/Cobra Pose
How does it work?

Method of doing Bhujangasana (Step by Step Instructions):
- Lie down on the floor on your stomach.
- Keep both palms facing the ground near the thighs.
- Keep in mind that the ankles remain touching each other.
- Bring your hands to shoulder level and place your palms facing the floor.
- Put your body weight on your palms and inhale.
- Lift your head and pull it towards your back.
- Your elbow will remain bent during this time.
- While pulling your head back, move your chest forward as well.
- Keep the head stretched like a snake’s hood.
- Keep in mind that the shoulders should be away from the ears and the shoulders should remain strong.
- Increase pressure through the hips, thighs, and feet toward the floor.
- Keep the body in this position for about 15 to 30 seconds.
- During this, maintain normal breathing rate.
- Feel your stomach pressing toward the floor.
- After practice, you can do this asana for 2 minutes also.
- To release the pose, slowly bring your hands back to the sides.
- Rest your head on the floor.
- Keep your hands under your head.
- Gently turn your head to one side and breathe slowly for two minutes.
Precautions
If you have a hernia problem then do not do this asana at all.
